Sometime when using Telnet Terminal program from Windows or from some other servers, the Backspace key will display ^H instead of deleting the previous input. Don’t really know what exactly causing this, maybe due to the terminal setting of the client Telnet program or something else (would love to hear if you do know what cause this behaviour).

Sometimes the Delete key took over the Backspace job if this occurred. If only for a short time usage, it”s ok, but it will started to be annoying especially when you have to stay long on that terminal.

The online/temporary solution is to run this:

admin# stty erase ^H

Where the ^H above is the Backspace key, just type stty erase and then press the Backspace key and then press Enter key.

You should be able to store that into the login startup script files to automate it.
