Final upgrade to MacBook Pro Mid-2010
Bought this great laptop in July 2010, and has been my main works machine ever since. upgraded the memory from 8GB to 16GB using the OWC memory module specially produced for this model. Change the hard disk few times as I prefer using fresh hard disk on every new MacOS major version.

Since the SSD SATA storage prices has gone down on 2019, and the battery has finally gone bad and screamed for replacement, so decided to finally get the replacement battery from OWC – NuPower battery. Since I can’t buy the battery directly from OWC because of the shipment restriction on batteries, I bought it from OWC partner at Singapore – SimplyMac.

The choice for SSD SATA is Patriot 960GB. So the first stage of final upgrade begun. Installed the replacement battery and then using the time machine backup, restore everything to the new SSD SATA.

Since I rarely use the DVD drive, decided to replace it with second SSD SATA. So I ordered the OWC Data Doubler with toolkit from SimplyMac Singapore as their delivery service is quite fast, and bought the second unit of Patriot 960GB SSD SATA. Once the data doubler arrived, installed it by following the video guide from OWC. Everything was done in about 30 minutes and now the final upgrade of this MacBook Pro mid-2010 is done.
